World Water Week is organised by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) and takes place in Stockholm, Sweden. It has been the annual focal point for the globe’s water issues since 1991.

This year, the theme is Water and Sustainable Growth. It is also the 20th jubilee of the Stockholm Junior Water Prize. In 2015, over 3,000 individuals and close to 300 convening organisations from 130 countries participated in the Week.

Experts, practitioners, decision-makers, business innovators and young professionals from a range of sectors and countries come to Stockholm to network, exchange ideas, foster new thinking and develop solutions to the most pressing water-related challenges of today.

The Australian Water Partnership is pleased to be participating again this year, by presenting a special session in cooperation with the US Water Partnership on ‘Building Resilience for Water Scarcity and Drought‘. There will also be an AWP stand for delegates to visit and network with us.

If you are attending the event, please drop by the AWP stand and have a chat with us (#1-2 in Folkets Hus). You are most welcome to stay and use the space as a meeting area.

You might also want to consider attending a workshop on managing drought and water scarcity, co-convened by the AWP and the US Water Partnership, scheduled for Thursday 2:00-3:30 PM. The first chapters in the Australian Water Narrative will be launched by Prof Jane Doolan during the week – please visit the AWP stand to find out when.
